Should you desire to play a Ritualist or an Assassin, your only starting option is Factions.
Should you desire to play a Dervish or a Paragon, your only starting option is Nightfall.
Should you desire to play any other class than the aforementioned, you are in luck. You are free to choose any campaign of the three, but how will you choose?
Here is an overview of the three campaigns:
Prophecies has 6 areas to explore.

Ascalon
This once great kingdom lays in ruins after the Charr invasion. Now the last surviving humans of this region struggle to stay alive and push back the ever-increasing Charr threat.
Shiverpeak Mountains
This snowy mountain range separates Ascalon and Kryta and spans north of them as well. It is a region plagued by both vicious monsters, and an ongoing civil war between the Deldrimor Dwarves and the Stone Summit Dwarves.
Kryta
These beautiful grasslands and small forests are guarded by the White Mantle. However, an Undead presence lurks beneath the peaceful facade.
Maguuma Jungle
A thriving jungle inhabited by many creatures and overrun by plantlife.
Crystal Desert
An arid desert inhabited by the ghosts of former warriors.
Ring of Fire Islands
A hellish chain of islands ruled by volcanoes.
Factions has 4 areas to explore.

Shing Jea Island
A large island and rural area to the west
Kaineng City
A sprawling metropolis and capital city
Echovald Forest
A petrified forest and home of the Kurzicks
The Jade Sea
A sea turned into solid jade and home of the Luxons
Nightfall has 5 areas to explore:

Istan
An island province littered with the ruins of an earlier Elonian empire.
Kourna
Known for its fiercely loyal soldiers, dedicated army, expansive estates, and thriving agriculture.
Vabbi
This northern province is home to wealthy merchant princes, a land where successful Elonians believe their safety, security, and affluence allow them to sponsor many of their nation’s greatest achievements.
The Desolation
The most hostile region in all of Elona; any mortal who steps into its sands will be instantly slain. It is a land of poisonous sulfur deserts home to many undead creatures and the great Junundu wurms.
Realm of Torment
The prison of Abaddon, the fallen God of Secrets. He was exiled to this place by the five Gods of Tyria. From there he seeks to gain back control and spread evil into the world of the mortals, eventually trying to break from his prison.
The first step in your quest to conquer the hall of monuments is to beat all three campaigns. In order to do so, I will first teach you the controls of the game. After that, I will walk you through each and every quest and mission you need. My guide will show you how to get the Master's Reward (Called "Bonus" in the prophecies campaign) on each of the missions. Bear in mind that it is not required that you do this on your first try. You can revisit it later, once you have better gear.
